Antique Ribbon Hat Bands
Some years ago we hired our friend Patricia to call ribbon factories all over the country looking for antique ribbon. She located a ribbon weaving mill in rural Pennsylvania. In New York for a trade show, we rented a car and drove to Pennsylvania. It was early autumn, and on the car radio as we left, there were announcements of a weekend of particularly beautiful turning leaves, Farms had pumpkins and stands of corn on display
The factory was cool and we had a wonderful visit. We filled our car trunk with decades old brand new hat ribbons. When we left, the area was so crowded we had difficulty finding room in restaurants and hotels, finally settling into an unmade up room well after midnight.
