San Francisco Hat Company's first fashion magazine credit was in Elle—a fine woven Montecristi panama with long fringe on famed model Iman. The next month a San Francisco Hat panama with frayed edge adorned the cover, worn by super model Paulina Porizkova.

Lots more photos followed, including many panamas with long fringe. One patterned panama with short brim and long fringe was sported by one of several models on a double page spread that also became the cover of Italian Elle.

We got a phone call looking to purchase that hat. Sally wasn't very responsive, the hat was pretty small. "That's all right, Miss Streisand wears a size Small. She wants to wear it to a party this weekend." Well, she likely did.

And a few years ago a Los Angeles based friend gifted us a hat he bought at auction and improvised a display frame. It was another of our hats with long fringe from the wardrobe of Barbra Striesand.
