Riverz Scout
I have worn these hats for the last 18 years working on my farm in Fiji. I absolutely love them and replace them every 4 years with the exact same item. Fiji is a very humid damp place with frequent brief rainstorms and the Scout is so much more durable than any other type of sun hat in these conditions. Regular straw hats just bend and lose their shape. Cloth and ribbon hats do the same and the intense sun rots them quickly leaving the top of your head exposed. Felt hats also get floppy and don't breathe like the Riverz hats do so they are too hot. The Riverz hat line is literally the only hat I have found that can stand up to the tropics and still look cute! Also they are easy to clean mold and grunge with a little bleach in water and a bit of a scrub. The San Francisco Hat company is great to work with and very helpful with special requests and sizing. I recommend them very highly if you are looking for practical, attractive, durable, breathable, serious sun protection.
