Soft brimmed hats of cloth or felt have been called Slouch since at least the early 19th Century. Comfortable Slouch hats were favored by California's Gold Rush adventurers.

 

In the Jazz Age and beyond, relaxed Slouch hats for men and women became a stylish alternative to stiff Victorian fashion. Packable portable sun protection has never been more appreciated than now. Approximately 2 1/2" brim width.
